BEGINNER TIPS
The rules of the Texas Holdem are easy to learn, but mastering the game is tough. If you are new to this game, here are some the beginner’s tips.
- Ace - Ace- This is the best beginner’s hand you can hope to have. It is also known as American airlines, pocket rocket or bullets
- King - King- This is the second best combination you can ever have. This combination is also known as the cowboys.
- Queen- Queen- The two Queens, otherwise known as ‘the ladies’ is an exceedingly superior hand to win you riches. There is a strong probability of Kings and Aces disappointing you, but you will have the upper-hand over the other cards.
- Ace-King- This combination is strong but very tricky. It’s strongest of the drawing hands but the flop needs to work for the player. He needs to have a pair of ace or kings for it to pay-off.
- Jack-Jack- A pair of Jacks wins you the game almost 20% of the time that you play. Here the only threat is if the flop shows King, Queen or Ace, otherwise it is very easy to win with this combination.
- Ace-Queen-Just as the Jack this should win you a hand 20% of the time you play the game. This is the second best draw.
- King-Queen- A top combination to win you a game unless the Ace falls in the board
- Ace-Jack- This is another high-quality drawing hand but not quite enough to win you a game.
- King-Jack- It is a good hand to play in the later stages of the game. It can be beaten by any of hands listed above it should always be used for folding big raises.
- Ace-ten- This combination is not that well suited. Nevertheless, on its day it can win you a hand.
The ten hands you should avoid-
- 2-7-This suit is considered to be the worst among all of them. They are the lowest two cards a player can think about. In any case this is a very low-hand to play with.
- 2-8- It is more or less same as the above combination except that here you have 8 instead of 7.
- 3-8 & 3-7- This particular combination is very shady. Nonetheless, you can beat the above two hands with this, but then again it is better avoided.
- 2-6- This combination is very risky. A player loses his hand 90% of the time. The odds of winning a game with this hand are extremely low.
- Tie: 2-9, 3-9, 4-9- The one thing that these three pairs have going for them is the number 9. You should be very careful while playing with this combination.
- 2-10- Records show that a player has won two championships with this combination. The fact remains that the chances of winning a game with this combination are very remote.
Needs to be re-done, please also notice that Ace and Jack and Queen needs to be written with a capital letter
