Texas holdem is the popular variant of the most famous card game Poker. The name was derived when the game was first played in Texas in the early 20th century and soon became famous in Dallas as well.
This is the official game in the “World Series of Poker” tournament. This tournament was first held in the year 1970 and is held every year in horseshoe Las Vegas. The game has gained a lot of popularity due to this tournament. With new events coming up around the world there are more players who want to try their hand at this game.
Texas holdem is soon becoming a very recognized game around the world as well as attracting a lot of people towards the game.
Rules of the game
The game is absolutely easy to learn though it takes ages to master it, you can find like minded people who feel that a mere understanding is enough for the game. The game can be played between two to ten players, with nine being the commonly fully dealt game. In Texas holdem, the main aim for a player is to win the pot. Pot is the money you and the other players have betted. To win the pot the player needs to have the best hand or bet and make the other players fold or give up the pot.
